Bronto Skylift was updating its business strategy. An essential part of it involved the development and management of Bronto’s whole supply chain, both at a tactical and an operational level. It was clear that the company needed a strong procurement expert.
ValueSource’s roster included a competent Chief Procurement Officer and an operative purchasing process professional. Present-state analysis offered a good starting point for defining the procurement strategy utilizing a method we have learned and used in consulting services.
A comprehensive procurement strategy was drawn up to support the business goals. Our extensive experience of strategic work was also put to good use in other areas by the executive team.
With the implementation of the new strategy, supply chain management and daily procurement management were taken to a new level. Categorical procurement management as well as the optimization and continuous development of the operative purchasing process got off to a good start in a way that genuinely supports the business goals.
The identified targets for development, i.e. the “must win battles”, inform the implementation of the strategy, while the CPO continues the systematic development together with the newly assembled procurement organization.
